Today, Pennsylvania State Representative Emily Kinkead endorsed Matt Rogers:
"I am pleased to endorse Matt Rogers for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for Allegheny County. As a lawyer and someone with a deep love of justice, our judiciary is precious to me. As a result, I do not endorse candidates who seek a place on our Bench lightly. Justice is far too precious and too fragile to support just anyone to be a judge.
One of the most important divisions in our Court of Common Pleas is the Family Law Division. It is the division citizens in Allegheny County are most likely to interact with and we need judges who understand that area of law and the access to justice issues that impact people there. Too often, the Family Division is treated as a stopover for judges who want to serve in the Criminal or Civil Divisions. Matt Rogers is a family law attorney who practices with compassion, integrity, and a deep knowledge of the struggles that parties who come before this court face.
Matt is dedicated to being a Family Court judge who will bring his knowledge, experience, and understanding to the Bench and treat every party - whether represented by a lawyer or pro se - with dignity and respect. That approach is too rare for us to miss the opportunity to elect a judge like Matt Rogers. For these reasons, I am proud to endorse Matt Rogers for Judge of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas and ask that you join me in supporting him."
